Fiesta Fundraiser!

Sunday, August 29, 2010
3:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Cost per person: $20.00

Join us for a fiesta afternoon at the Des Moines Social Club with a silent auction, Latino music, and tapas. We’ll be visiting live with our mission co-worker in El Salvador and the Pastoral Team. All the proceeds support the work of Our Sister Parish and the mission in El Salvador. Past and current projects include water filter projects, water collection tanks, flood relief efforts, fair trade coffee, medical help, educational scholarships, fertilizer distribution, solar panel installation, and more. We will be selling our coffee, Don Justo—Coffee with Dignity, at the event.

Our Sister Parish Mission is a faith based ecumenical effort designed to bring hope and social development to the poor of the pueblo of Berlín, El Salvador, particularly those who live in the cantones of Berlín. Our goal is to raise awareness and embrace solidarity by developing committed relationships within churches in the US and with our brothers and sisters in El Salvador. In the relationships that develop between US churches and the poor of the cantones, faith will grow and the love of God will be profoundly experienced for all involved.

Tickets may be purchased in advance. Contact Betty Dyer at the Presbytery of Des Moines, 2400 - 86th Street, Suite 20, Urbandale, Iowa. 515-276-4991 or pbydesmoines@presbyteryofdesmoines.org. Tickets are also available at the door.
